Prof. Laura K. Rademacher (she/her)
I am a Professor in the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences and the Interim Faculty Director of the Sustainability Program at the University of the Pacific. I graduated with a B.S. degree in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (1996) and a PhD in Geology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2002). Following graduate school, I worked as a postdoctoral scholar in uranium series geochemistry at UIUC and as an Assistant Professor at CSULA before I joined Pacific in 2005.
My research interests focus on the intersection of hydrology and climate change and the impact changes in Earth’s systems have on ecosystems and communities. I enjoy working on interdisciplinary teams, including those in biology, chemistry, sociology, engineering, art, education, and beyond. Our work includes undergraduate researchers as essential team members who have the opportunity to develop their creativity and analytical skills.
